The universal wafer-cylinder cam locks with plate-cylinder mechanism and oversized head, friendly called pawl, is among the most popular locks in all areas. The nickel-plated brass key moves the central 5-plate-cylinder rotor placed inside a zinc alloy box called a stator, bushing or body. The double D fixing hole prevents the rotation of the cam lock body when installed. Through operation of the rear cam, locking or opening of the cam lock is determined. The increased size of the cylinder head provides more strength to the lock, increasing its strength and security.
The body and the barrel of the cam lock are made of zinc alloy, the cam is made of steel. The 7 mm cam connection also allows the installation of several straight, cranked or notched cams, as well as of 2-point cams to operate rods. Various versions allow different rotations, door thicknesses from 0.5 to 27 mm, and key removal in open and closed (or only one of the two cases). Fully threaded body allows fastening by nut, but also by horseshoe clip or clip forquick installation on steel, aluminum or plastic sheets.
Universal cam lock with oversized head is ideal for installations in office furniture, locker cabinets, metal doors, melamine cabinets, HPL cabinets, MDF cabinets, doors, carpentry items, sheet metal boxes, vending and carwash systems, machinery, pulpits, and actuator panels.
