The 1/4-turn FIAT budget lock consists of a die-cast metal body inside of which is a FIAT budget lock barrels characterized by a cross shape under spring that, moved by a special key, rotates determining opening or closing.
The square 7 mm cam connection allows to install several straight cams, cranked cams or notched cams, as well as multi-point cams to operate rods or actuators for central locking systems. The quarter turn FIAT tool operated camlock, thanks to the compression system, is resistant to stress and vibrations. It offers a higher security level compared to the other tool operated camlocks as the cruciform rotor ensures that the camlock can be operated only using the proper key. No other tools, such as pliers, can be used to operate the lock. It is then a good compromise between a common tool operated camlock and a key operated camlock.
The FIAT socket key lock is suitable for applications where special stress resistance and a medium level of security are required, such as in machine tools, on robots, assembly lines, electrical panels, carpentry artifacts, and technical compartments.
