The universal rim lock with a plate-cylinder mechanism is among the most popular locks. The nickel-plated brass key moves the central 5-plate-cylinder rotor placed inside a zinc alloy box called a stator, bushing or body. The diameter is milled on two opposing sides (side plates) forming a double D to prevent rotation of the cam lock in the installation housing. The cam rotation determines the locking or the unlocking.
Body and barrel are made of zinc alloy, while the cam is made of steel. The 7-mm square terminal also allows installation of a variety of straight, cranked and hook cams, as well as multi-point cams for translating rod movement (up and down). The many variants available allow different rotations directions, door thicknesses from 0.5 to 27 mm, and key removal in open and closed (or only one of the two cases). Lock fixing is easy thanks to the horseshoe clip for quick installationon steel, aluminum, or plastic doors and drawers.
Universal cam locks are ideal for installations in office furniture, metal doors, hatches, carpentry items, sheet metal boxes, vending and carwash systems, machinery, pulpits, and actuator panels.
