The cremone lock or espagnolette lock with rotating rods allows multiple (3-point) and centralized locking of cabinets with high doors. The movement of the rods is not by translation (up/down), but by rotation ensuring greater strength and slight compression of the door when locking.

The cremone lock or espagnolette lock with rotating rods allows multiple (3-point) and centralized locking of cabinets with high doors. The movement of the rods is not by translation (up/down), but by rotation ensuring greater strength and slight compression of the door when locking. On the rod ends are mounted the rods’ hooks, which rotate and, once activated by the key, engage the pins tumblers attached to the cabinet crossbeams.
The lock is made of zinc alloy, has a plate-cylinder cam locks, and numerous accessories are available to complete the lock: half-round rods, upper and lower hooks, adjustable pins, u-bolts, rod guides, and rosettes. The key is made of nickel plated brass and it can optionally be equipped with a plastic folding cap in different finishes: black, grey, white, transparent or further customized colours. Detachable barrel/cylinder version allows extraction of the barrel containing the platelets and thus modification of the combination. Thanks to the several cylinder lengths available, the installation is possible on different materials (wood, metal, HPL, melamine, MDF, HDF, etc.) and panel thickness. The lock to be applied with rotating rods is commonly used by professionals, industries, and craftsmen for application in cabinets and office furniture with hinged doors and doors, and doors in general.
Curiosity! the rotating movement of the hooks is reminiscent of the typical hand motion of flamenco dancers, called“braceo,” from which the nickname “a spagnoletta” was later derived.
