Locks with rotating rods
OMR locks with rotating rods are an advanced technical solution for multipoint locking of hinged doors in industrial and professional settings. Thanks to the rotating rods system with end hooks, they ensure high mechanical strength and even distribution of locking force over two or three points. Ideal for technical cabinets, office furniture and industrial furnishings, they are available with flat keys or antique keys, in KA, KD and passe-partout configurations. Made of die-cast metal with a plate-cylinder mechanism, they offer fastening by screws or riveting, black or nickel-plated finish, and compatibility with right- or left-handed doors. Standard hole diameter is 16 mm, with key extraction positions with both lock open and closed.
The main peculiarity of locks with rotating rods corresponds to the fact that such models know how to ensure that the door is closed not at one point, but at two or three, a feature found only in a few other variants, such as expansion locks.
Locks with rotating rods, also known as espagnolette locks, have rods at the ends of which there are hooks that provide great strength and solidity, thus increasing the ability to withstand forcing and, as mentioned, locking the cabinet at multiple points.
These locks can be distinguished into two different variants, namely those with a traditional key and so-called one-lever locks with an ancient key; as for applications, locks with rotating rods are mainly used in the furniture industry.
In addition to having, as seen, technical features that are ideal for applications in which two- or three-point locking is required, these locks are highly valued for their very discreet design thanks to which they are also able to integrate best with the structure of highly aesthetic furniture, such as wooden office furniture and poor art domestic furniture.
OMR Locks offers locks with rotating rods suitable for any use and allows customers to customize the product in endless ways so that it can best meet their needs.

FAQ
What are locks with rotating rods used for in industrial furniture?
Locks with rotating rods are used to provide secure, multi-point (two or three-point) distributed locking in technical cabinets, industrial containers, and professional furniture. They offer greater resistance against break-in attempts than single-point locks.
What is the difference between KA, KD and passe-partout encryption?
KA (Keyed Alike) encryption allows multiple locks to be opened with the same key; KD (Keyed Different) encryption assigns a different key for each lock; the passe-partout system allows opening with a general key in addition to one's own.
In what cases is key extraction positions useful with the lock open and closed?
Key extraction positions in both states (open and closed) are useful when it is necessary to prevent the key from remaining in the cylinder, such as for operational security reasons or to simplify multi-user management.
