The rotary-rod rim lock, also known as the espagnolette lock, allows multiple (2-point) and centralized locking of cabinets with high doors. The movement of the rods is not by translation (up/down), but by rotation ensuring greater strength and slight compression of the door when closing. Hooks are mounted on the rod ends, which, rotating driven by the key, engage with the pins on the cabinet crossbeams. The entire lock structure is made of zinc alloy, with a plate-cylinder rotor. Comprising the lock are a number of numerous accessories: half-round rods, upper and lower hooks, adjustable pins, U-bolts, rod guides, and escutcheons.

The key is made of nickel plated brass and it can optionally be equipped with a plastic folding cap in different finishes: black, grey, white, transparent or further customized colours. The model with removable barrel allows to rapidly change the keying. Thanks to the several cylinder lengths available, the installation is possible on different materials (wood, metal, HPL, melamine, MDF, HDF, etc.) and panel thickness. The rotating rods rim lock is commonly used by professionals, industries, and craftsmen for application in cabinets and office furniture with hinged doors and doors, and doors in general.

Fun fact! The rotating movement of the hooks is reminiscent of the typical hand movement of flamenco dancers, called “braceo,” from which the nickname “espagnolette” was later derived.
